General Description

As part of the Office Based Opioid Treatment Team, the supervisor maintains a caseload of therapy clients, works with referring agencies to ensure same-day access to intakes, and collects and submits data to support grant activities.  The supervisor provides clinical and administrative supervision to clinical and peer support staff, and coordinates care with the OBOT nurse case managers, medical director, prescribers and area detox, CSS, jail and other referral sources. 

Essential Job Functions


  • Will collect and submit GPRA data from SOR funded programs as well as coordinating submission of EIM/ESM and BMC data.
  • Will coordinate daily with OBOT leadership staff including the OBOT Nurse Care Manager Supervisor and Adult & Family Medical Director
  • Will help to develop and facilitate a strategic plan to increase OBOT enrollment for Pittsfield-South County region and North Adams Region
  • Will coordinate with external program directors of area detox, CSS, jail programs and other community agencies to coordinate OBOT program outreach
  • Coordination and assignment of intakes to OBOT clinician.  Oversees triage of intakes and waiting list when necessitated by volume.  Monthly review of  OBOT clinicians productivity and caseloads.  Initiate annual performance evaluations of staff.  Participate in hiring of staff and addressing performance issues as appropriate
  • Assist OBOT Recovery Coach in creating a weekly schedule for outreach. Monitor recovery coach’s productivity  and progress towards outreach goals
  • In weekly clinical team meetings, direct utilization review and quality assurance of focused treatment plans for new and continuing clients with attention to clinical assessment, payer, client’s use of treatment, length and intensity of treatment.  Approve requests for initial financial subsidies for extension of treatment


  • Responsible for direct clinical supervision of assigned staff and  consultation to any clinician as needed.  Develop clinical leadership role in team and staff meetings
  • Directly assists with the supervision of medical assistants
  • Complete diagnostic mental health/substance use disorder  assessment and provide treatment
  • Assist with Access Group as directed to assist clients wishing to access substance use disorder services
  • Provide screening and education about Brien Center services on an outreach basis including visits to Berkshire Health Systems (McGee or Jones Units or CSS), Berkshire House of Corrections or other community locations as needed
  • Meet weekly or as needed with Division Director

Direct Service:

  • Complete diagnostic mental health/substance use disorder  assessment and provide treatment
  • Assist with Access Group as directed to assist clients wishing to access substance use disorder services
  • Provide screening and education about Brien Center services on an outreach basis including visits to Berkshire Health Systems (McGee or Jones Units or CSS), Berkshire House of Corrections or other community locations as needed

Reporting Relationships:

  • Meet weekly or as needed with Division Director

  • Master’s degree in social work or psychology with highest licensure
  • LCSW, LICSW, LMHC, LADAC1  required within 6 months of eligibility date
  • Depth of clinical and supervisory experience
  • Knowledgeable in mental health and community systems
