General Description
Provides intake screening, follow-up ESP appointments, and community-based intervention to individuals and families
Essential Job Functions
- Complete diagnostic mental health/substance use disorder assessment and provide treatment
- Coordinate with OBOT, TSP, and Outpatient as directed to assist clients wishing to access substance use disorder and mental health services
- Work with and assist the local law enforcement in providing outreach to individuals in the community experiencing distress to reduce unnecessary emergency room visits, psychiatric hospitalization or incarceration
- Maintain client records, completing all necessary paperwork in a timely manner
- Coordinate treatment components and communicate with all collateral agents
- Provide treatment within guidelines established by the Brien Center
- Provide consultation to community agencies on mental health/substance use disorder issues upon request
Other Responsibilities
- Maintain required productivity level
- Participate in regularly scheduled supervision with BHUC Program Director
- Attend required meetings and agency trainings
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling or other clinical concentration required
- LCSW, LICSW, LMHC, LADAC1 required within 6 months of eligibility date
- Diagnostic and treatment knowledge and skill
- Extensive knowledge of the dynamics of mental health/substance abuse treatment, intervention and education
- Experience in providing individual and group mental health/substance use disorder and family counseling

- Excellent oral and presentation skills
- Leadership talent Working knowledge of computers
- Ability to work on interdisciplinary team
