Site Supervisor - Community Services

Pittsfield, MA

Position is Sunday - Thursday, 12 Noon to 8 PM.

General Description

This position includes responsibility for site operations/staff development, supervision and implementation of treatment plans  at the Transitional Age Youth Program.

Essential Job Functions

  • Provide supervision to Recovery Facilitators/Community Based and help facilitate their involvement in community activities and to establish independent networks
  • Work in collaboration with the Integrated Team(s)
  • Oversee staff following all MAP policies and protocols when administering medications and ensure medication audits occur
  • Update all Persons records as required and review and document Persons progress towards goals listed in the Persons treatment plan
  • Participate in all relevant staff meetings, treatment team meetings, scheduled supervision and interagency meetings
  • Work in collaboration with DMH, Care Coordination Entity, Berkshire Pathways, Medical and Psychiatric providers
  • Report any incidents regarding accidents, injury or medication errors to your supervisor
  • Complete staff schedules for site, delegate duties and supervise staff and assure staff competence
  • Train newly hired staff
  • Complete annual evaluations for all staff
  • Teach and train staff on site safety plans, relocations plans, crisis intervention skills, and on-call supports
  • Ensure all Persons complete a Self/Preservation/Fire Safety training upon entrance into the program, if applicable
  • Ensure petty cash and Persons funds are counted and stored according to policy and procedures


  • Review staffing schedules to eliminate or at least minimize overtime
  • Work in collaboration with other site leaders for coverage
  • Provide on-going supervision and training to ensure accurate medication administration, record keeping and standards of care
  • Communicate a sense of hopefulness and respect
  • Flexibly respond to program scheduling needs
  • Represent the agency in a professional manner in all community contacts and interagency committees
  • Serve on interagency committees
  • Oversee the staff interaction with Persons and intervene to teach effective communication skills when needed
  • Provide skills training to staff through positive role modeling
  • Maintain work environment, reporting any hazards to supervisor


  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree in related field or four years of experience in related required
  • Knowledge of licensing requirements and skills to maintain those standards
  • Prior experience  supervising, evaluating and motivating staff preferred
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule
  • Ability to pass a Criminal Background Check (CORI) and Driver Background Check (DMV)


  • Leadership skills required to supervise and delegate responsibilities to other employees, students and volunteers and oversee assignments.
  • Ability to multi-task and deal with a wide variety of people
  • Proficient computer skills in using web based e-mail and ability to data enter information into spreadsheets and word processing document

Working Conditions:

  • Works in office; housing type environment: temperature regulated
  • Able to work or travel to various locations as needed

Physical Requirements and Conditions:

  • Manual & visual dexterity; correctable
  • Lifting Maximums:  weight of grocery bags and/or laundry baskets
  • Push, pull, stand, reach overhead and twist
  • Able to bend at the knees, waist and lower self to the ground or floor without assistance
  • Able to physically climb and descend stairs without assistance
